History

Paul Fleming and Philip Chiang co-founded the restaurant chain in 1993 – the name itself comes from Paul Fleming (P.F.) and Chiang whose surname was shortened to Chang. The first restaurant was located at the Scottsdale Fashion Square in Scottsdale. In the same year, the acquisition of four bistro restaurants also resulted in the creation of P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, Inc.

On 2 July 2012, Centerbridge Partners purchased P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, Inc. and, in the process, it became a privately-held company instead of being a publicly-traded corporation.

Why Choose It for Your Catering Needs

The P. F. Chang’s catering prices are among the more budget-friendly options in the casual dining industry. You may not be paying top dollar for the catering service but you aren’t exactly paying peanuts, especially when the delicious American-Chinese cuisine, satisfactory services from the wait staff, and casual environment are considered.

In terms of food, the chain is known and loved for its Chinese-American cuisine, which means that the dishes and desserts are strongly influenced by authentic Chinese cuisine with modifications for American preferences. Even the beverage selection reflects such modern fusion – aside from the standard beverage offerings, you will also find Asian beers and sake alongside wines, specialty drinks, and coffee (e.g. espresso and cappuccino).

If your guest list includes people with allergies to gluten, you can order several gluten-free dishes for them, too. You can mix and match several packages and personalize your own catering package with more orders, if you so desire.

You have several choices in the catering packages, most of which can satisfy a small group of a dozen people. The Street Fare package, for example, consists of 24 pieces of Hunan Dragon Wings as well as Chang’s Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Dynamite Shrimp, Chang’s BBQ Spare Ribs, and Crispy Green Beans. Other choices include the Dim Sum Fare, Sushi Fare, and Market Sides Fare, to name a few.

You can either call or visit the nearest P.F. Chang’s restaurant to make the necessary arrangements for your catering needs. You may also order online since it’s the more convenient option although you may still have to coordinate with the catering manager on a face-to-face basis at least once before the planned event, especially if you have in-store decorations in mind.
