History

Juan Francisco Ochoa opened the first El Pollo Loco in Guasave, Sinaloa, Mexico in 1975. Their secret recipe of citrus-marinated fire grilled chicken was proven to be an instant hit among Mexicans. The company was able to expand throughout Northern Mexico and in 1980, its first restaurant in the United States opened at Alvarado Street in Los Angeles, California. Surprisingly, their Mexican flare offerings also suit the palate of the Americans. Soon enough, they had to open new locations to cater the demand of their growing patrons. With more than four decades in the food business, the company remains committed in serving their guests with high quality Mexican-inspired dishes that are offered at a very reasonable price.
