History
The founder of Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken is Lee Cummings who is the nephew of Colonel Harland Sanders, founder of KFC. Lee spent most of his childhood in the kitchen of his home in Henryville, Indiana and went with his uncle on the road in 1952 to sell their homemade special blend of spices which became one of KFC’s secret recipes. Soon enough, Lee Cummings started making his own recipe which he later termed as “Famous Recipe”. And so in 1966, together with Harold Omer, he introduced his Famous Recipe Chicken at Harold’s Take-Home in Lima, Ohio.
