History
In 2004, the father-and-son team of Don and Chris Newcomb, who are both chefs, opened Newk’s Express Café in Oxford, Mississippi. In 2013, the restaurant was renamed Newk’s Eatery.
In 2014, Sentinel Capital Partners, a private equity firm engaged in buying and building companies, purchased the business from the founders. Today, there are more than 100 Newk’s Eatery in 13 states while its headquarters are in Jackson, Mississippi.
