History

In 1927, Peter J. Oberweis started the business by selling his family’s dairy farm’s excess milk production in his neighborhood in Kane County, Illinois. Now known as Oberweis Dairy, the North Aurora, Illinois-based, privately-owned company is the parent company of a chain of fast-food restaurants and dairy-related businesses in the Midwest. The Dairy and Ice Cream Stores are perhaps the best-known of these businesses, thanks to the retail operations and catering services.
