History

Sonic Drive-In has its roots in Cottage Café, a small diner located in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Troy N. Smith, Sr. bought it and rebranded it as a fast-food restaurant known as Troy’s Pan Full of Chicken. He also purchase Top Hat, a root beer stand, which he later renamed as Sonic in 1959 since the former was already trademarked.

While the original Sonic location started in the 1950s, the current Sonic Corporation was only incorporated in 1990.

Sonic Drive-In restaurants deliver your catering orders as fast as their carhops deliver your drive-in orders! You can rely on their efficient system to ensure that, indeed, your guests will have delicious food and drinks to enjoy.

You can choose either to have your orders dropped off in your venue or to let the staff handle the set-up, on-site service, and clean-up. In case of the latter, a $25 service fee is required.

The buffet package includes burgers, coney dogs, coleslaw and chips, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, and condiments, among others. The plates, utensils and napkins are also included in the full-service package.
