History

Before the first café opened, the people behind this restaurant was already serving fresh fruit smoothies from a stand on a beach in Florida. It was 1997 when Tropical Smoothie Café opened its first restaurant in Tallahassee. Initially, it only offered smoothies; but in 1999, it started to serve various food options that would complement with smoothies.

In its 10th anniversary in 2007, it started its own holiday and named it National Flip Flop Day® in which various fun happenings occurred. Tropical Smoothie Café also has Camp Sunshine fundraising. In 2017, it is making a new approach to these.
